Our third Digital 7” installment, “Last Straw” might remind you of Porchsleeper from days gone by. This tune has been in the back of the Sleeper fridge long enough to grow hair and hit on the mayo. It’s rooted in the tried and true Vert formula of building a song from a turned phrase related to drinking and breaking up (surprise!). Brian unleashed some of his best-evar guitar noodling in the choruses, and Vert channels his inner Eric Patrick Kelly in the outro. There’s even a bit of lyrical sacrilege for good measure.
If you like upbeat misery, this one’s for you.
